My Corner
What's being said on my slice of the internets? I'll tell ya (hint: Israel comes up often)
“Americans: hurricane relief please
Washington: Sorry did you say send thousands more troops to the middle east to support Israeli warmongering?
Americans: no, hurricane relief
Washington: Okay you drive a hard bargain but those troops are on their way to the middle east right now.”

“This is what every person of conscience has been warning about for nearly an entire year: Israel’s genocide in Palestine leading to a wider conflict. We are now on the precipice, as Iran fires over 100 ballistic missiles at Israel, with many making it past the Iron Dome and making contact, and with Israel invading Lebanon. Israel has also bombed Syria and Yemen this week, and its relentless killing in Gaza hasn’t ceased either. Despite all of this the U.S. backing of the Netanyahu regime remains unchanged.”

“In harrowing scenes, Iran has launched a salvo of hypersonic missiles at Israel that have rendered the iron dome useless and caused explosions across the country. This unprovoked attack came after Israel peacefully committed a year-long genocide, bombed an embassy, destroyed schools, universities and hospitals, starved 2.1 million civilians, carried out multiple assassinations, murdered 162 journalists and 222 UN workers, built a center dedicated to the rape and torture of prisoners, launched large-scale terror attacks in Beirut, and invaded Lebanon. Why is Iran like this?”

“The Israelis killed Hassan Nasrallah in their barbaric assault on Haret Hreik, Beirut, on Friday. The Israeli bombings reduced multiple buildings to rubble and likely killed hundreds, if not thousands more (the full tally isn’t known yet), but most importantly they got the man they wanted. Nasrallah had been leading the Lebanese resistance group since 1992 and was the most formidable and trusted leader in the Axis of Resistance. His pronouncements were consumed with rapt attention by both friends and enemies. He commanded respect.”

“One week after Israel began its US-backed rampage in Gaza last October, President Biden was asked by CBS News if fueling a Middle East conflict on top of the proxy war in Ukraine was “more than the United States can take on at the same time.”
“No,” Biden shot back with indignation. “We're the United States of America for God's sake, the most powerful nation in the history -- not in the world, in the history of the world.” Not only does the US “have the capacity to do this,” Biden intoned, “we have an obligation to. We are the ‘essential nation’... And if [we] don’t, then who does?” ”

So that’s what’s happening, debates about allowing Ukraine to launch even more long-range attacks into Russia - which literally amounts to a debate about whether we’re into nuclear war or not. And Israel is taking its genocide on the road, to Lebanon! to Syria! to…what other nations are on its border…there too! And with a shout-out to the American Empire selection that’s always worth a mention, at least for a couple months: Trump says he will end the war with Russia, the other says no such thing; but between the top two organized crime syndicates parties, there is no way to vote against the growing genocide.
